Haesley Kite Battle

Haesley Kite Battle

The name of the location of Haesley, Yeolla-ri in Yeoju, Gyeonggi-do, Korea came from the expression ¡°Place led by kite.¡± Sejong the Great, the sagest king in the history of Korea who invented the Korean alphabet Hunminjeongeum, the most scientific alphabet in the world!

The royal tomb of King Sejong was originally located in Gwangju, Gyeonggi-do. However, the body was found to have been preserved when the tomb was opened to inter the body of Queen Sohyeon following the king¡¯s will that a kite be flown to find a new place for the tomb.

The wind led the kite to Yeolla-ri where our club is located today, but geomancers found the site for the new tomb while searching for the kite and decided to move the tomb there, which became today¡¯s Yeongneung.

The original location indicated by the heavens is where Haesley is today. In particular, the rice harvest here is considered the best rice in Yeoju and is known as the best site according to feng shui, the theory of divination based on topography
