Hole 3 - Par 5

a panorama of Hole3 1

The shortest long hole on the course leaves great challenge from the elevated tee to the green. One fairway bunker down the right side of the first landing zone provides scale for distance off the tee. For those players that now the character of the landing zone there is a speed slot down the left side of the fairway and missing the speed slot the left will provide a hanging lie in the kentucky bluegrass rough. While a shot missed to the right of the speed slot will leave a longer second and most likely no chance to reach this short par 5 in two. For those players striking there second shot from the elevated right side of the fairway will realize that the required third shot to reach the green demands a perfectly positioned second shot. Distance control for the wedge game allows the player to score low on any golf course around this world and reaching this green with approach close to the pin can yield birdie for many and par for most players. The back left pin position is reminiscent of the green putting surface of Pinehurst #2 and the ¡°Turtle Back¡± or crowned type putting surfaces that hold only the perfect approach shot while the front right of the green is concaved, receptive and gathers the approach shot.
